Image resizing tips

Social media sizes

Instagram: 1080×1080, Facebook cover: 820×312, Twitter header: 1500×500. Set exact dimensions for perfect uploads.

Aspect ratio lock

Keep proportions intact when resizing. Change width and height auto-adjusts — no stretched or squished images.

Batch resizing

Upload up to 20 images at once and resize them all to the same dimensions in a single operation.

Format preservation

Output keeps the same format as your original — JPEG stays JPEG, PNG stays PNG, WebP stays WebP.

Why resize images?

Images straight from your camera or phone are often much larger than needed. A 12-megapixel photo is 4000×3000 pixels — far too big for web pages, social media posts, or email attachments. Resizing reduces file size while fitting platform requirements.

Social media platforms have specific dimension requirements. Instagram posts look best at 1080×1080, Facebook covers need 820×312, and Twitter headers are 1500×500. Uploading the wrong size means your image gets cropped or stretched. Our resizer lets you set exact pixel dimensions so your images always look perfect.

All resizing runs directly in your browser using the Canvas API — your images are never uploaded anywhere. The aspect ratio lock ensures proportions stay correct, and batch mode lets you resize up to 20 images at once.

Frequently asked questions

What image formats are supported?

You can resize JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and BMP images. JPEG, PNG, and WebP files keep their original format after resizing. GIF and BMP inputs are resized and exported as JPEG.

Does resizing reduce image quality?

Resizing to smaller dimensions is generally lossless for the visible content. When enlarging images, some softness may occur as new pixels are interpolated. The tool uses high-quality rendering (92% JPEG quality by default).

Can I resize multiple images at once?

Yes. You can upload up to 20 images in a single batch and resize them all to the same target dimensions. Each image is processed individually and can be downloaded separately.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device and are never sent to any server.

What are common image sizes for social media?

Instagram post: 1080×1080, Instagram story: 1080×1920, Facebook cover: 820×312, Twitter header: 1500×500, LinkedIn banner: 1584×396, YouTube thumbnail: 1280×720.
