Why use the PDF splitter?
Split locally in your browser
Your PDF stays on your device. Pages are extracted using pdf-lib without any server upload.
Flexible page ranges
Enter ranges like "1-3, 5, 7-10" to create multiple PDFs at once. Each group becomes a separate file.
Large files supported (up to 100 MB)
Process PDFs up to 100 MB right in your browser. No account or subscription required.
How local PDF splitting works
Upload your PDF and enter the page ranges you want to extract. The tool parses your input, copies the requested pages into new PDF documents using pdf-lib, and creates download links — all inside your browser.
Each comma-separated group in your range input becomes a separate output PDF. For example, “1-3, 5” creates two files: one with pages 1 through 3 and another with just page 5.
Since everything runs locally, your documents are never uploaded to any server. The original PDF stays on your device at all times.
Frequently asked questions
How do I specify page ranges?
Enter page numbers and ranges separated by commas. For example, "1-3, 5, 7-10" creates three PDFs: one with pages 1–3, one with page 5, and one with pages 7–10. Pages are 1-indexed.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
Password-protected PDFs cannot be split directly. You will need to remove the password protection first, then upload the unprotected file for splitting.
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. The entire splitting process runs locally inside your browser using pdf-lib. Your files never leave your device.
Can I split a PDF into individual pages?
Yes. Enter each page number separated by commas, like "1, 2, 3, 4". Each number creates a separate single-page PDF that you can download individually.
